Arsonist caught on camera setting fire to gay pride flags in Harlem

A man was captured on surveillance footage last week lighting gay pride flags on fire amidst the start of Pride Month.
The Alibi Lounge – the only gay bar in Harlem – had the flags hanging outside of their location when a man was seen lighting them on fire after midnight on Friday. There was no other damage to the bar.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has since put out a tweet, posting "Love is stronger than hate. Pride is stronger than fear. LGBTQ New Yorkers won't be intimidated by this disgusting act of bigotry. The NYPD is investigating this hate crime and will find whoever is responsible."
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is asking the public to call them with any information about the case at 1-800-577-TIPS.
