The New York Blood Center is calling for donors as the region's supply hits a record low.
The center says there has been a major decline in the regular amount of blood donors.
They say it only takes about an hour to donate and that blood from one person can save multiple lives in cases of serious emergencies, mass casualties and other situations that call for transfusions.
