A new app is providing  New Yorkers with helpful information during the coronavirus pandemic. 

The Tito app was originally created for people to be able to take photos and videos of things happening in their community and then sell it to the media.

However, when the coronavirus pandemic started getting serious, the founders decided that the app could be used to show people where the resources they may need are. 

The app helps connect them to testing sites, free meals and necessities that they might need, like toilet paper. 

It also has a map where you can navigate through the city. The founders tell News 12 they wanted to do what they could in a time of crisis. 

"For a week, we kept waking up and being really confused as to what was going on outside. It seemed like the situation changed every day, and we woke up to a different reality. We have the technology, why not deploy it now? We have a way to help people, the only other way we can help right now is to stay home and bunker up,” says co-founder Platon Levitski. 

The app is still in beta form, which means there may be a few bugs along the way. However, the founders say they are working hard to help New Yorkers in this time of need.
