The Brooklyn community is mourning the loss of 91-year-old Irene Cox.
The Brooklyn woman is described as a life-changer by many.
Former NYPD Transit Chief Joe Fox says he met Cox at a McDonald's on Flatbush Avenue in 2008.
"She would sit there and have conversations with total strangers, and they would just know who Miss Irene was. She was a great bundle of joy," said Fox.
Cox's grandson tells News 12 that it didn't matter if you were family or a stranger, everyone could feel her presence.
The community is planning a possible memorial at the Mcdonald's on Flatbush Avenue in her honor.
