(AP) - A student has been stabbed and wounded at a New York City public high school.
Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg said the student was stabbed in the right shoulder at about noon Friday in the basement of Paul Robeson High School in Brooklyn. The confrontation was between two male students.
She said did not know what kind of weapon was used.
The youth's name has not been released. Citing school safety officials, Feinberg said he was taken to Kings County Hospital in serious but stable condition.
There has been no immediate arrest.
Feinberg said a crisis team has been dispatched to the school, which was placed on lockdown.
