A group of Bushwick students is doing what they can to help the victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti.
Third-grade teacher Noelle Cuvilly says that when her class at Achievement First Bushwick Elementary learned about the victims of the powerful storm suffering in Haiti, they sprang to action.
The students began collecting items to ship to Haiti after the hurricane that killed hundreds and displaced thousands.
Anthony Cunningham, the owner of Kafe L'Ouverture, will be personally transporting the donated items when he travels to Haiti Nov. 13. He says the school's effort is inspiring.
