Some students at Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn decided to roll up their sleeves and get their coronavirus vaccine on Monday.
The high school is one of 25 vaccination locations that the Department of Education is opening at Summer Rising sites across the city between now and August 13.
Vaccines start rolling out at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Brooklyn.
In the Bronx, students can get their shots at Herbert H. Lehman High School on Tuesday and Wednesday.
All minors must have verbal consent from a parent either over the phone or in person.
Schools Chancellor Meisha Ross Porter says the goal is to get all students ages 12 and older their first dose of the vaccine by August 9. This way, they are fully vaccinated by the start of the school year.
