Study links parental drinking to teen alcohol consumption

Your drinking habits could influence your teenage children.
According to a new study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health, adolescents whose parents drank regularly or binge drank were four times more likely to drink themselves.
Binge drinking is defined as at least four drinks for women and five drinks for men on one occasion.
Alcohol can negatively affect teens' health and brain development. The age at which a person starts drinking is tied to the risk of addiction.
