School may be ending soon, but that doesn't mean the reading and learning needs to stop for summer.
The Brooklyn Public Library kicked off its 2014 Summer Reading Program today. Library workers say summer breaks are shown to cause the average student to lose up to one month of instruction. The program hopes to keep kids interested in reading with some encouragement from parents.
Parents can register their kids at the library. There is also a pamphlet available with suggested book lists for kids of all ages.
