News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Addison Green says the dry and sunny weather conditions will last through Labor Day - and so will the rough surf.
There is a RIP CURRENT STATEMENT issued for NYC and tristate area ocean-facing beaches due to the swells and rough surf arriving at our shores from the distant storms. This is expected to continue through the weekend.
OVERNIGHT: Clear skies, cool temps, and a relaxing breeze. Lows near 60.
SATURDAY: Slightly warmer than Friday but humidity levels are staying comfy. Highs near 80. Lows near 68.
SUNDAY: Warmer and more humid but still with fair skies. Highs near 87. Lows near 73..
MONDAY: *LABOR DAY*- A classic Summery Day!  Hot, humid, lots of sun. Highs near 91. Feels Like temps will be into the low to mid 90s. Lows near 74.

TUESDAY: Another steamy day with hot temps. Highs near 91. Lows near 73.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny skies to mostly cloudy with a chance for afternoon showers.  Highs near 88. Lows near 70.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Highs near 85. Lows near 71.
POST-TROPICAL STORM IDALIA is moving just south of Bermuda over the weekend. It will turn north, but we see signs of the storm turning back toward the east coast sometime early next week. As the system lingers in the Western Atlantic Ocean, our area will deal with the swells from this storm that will continue to batter the beaches with elevated surf and high risk for the development of rip currents.
