Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced plans to revitalize Sunset Park Monday, which will create more than 2,000 construction and industrial jobs over the next two years.
Officials say the city will invest more than $165 million in the revitalization project, with another $105 million to be provided by state, federal and private funds. Bloomberg says the purpose of the project is to create a healthier environment in the area and a more vibrant waterfront. The project will include the modernization of the Bush and Brooklyn Army terminals and the reactivation of the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal.
A job fair will be held in August.
