Susan Sarandon, public advocate work in Dumbo restaurant to shine light on ‘One Fair Wage’ mission

Susan Sarandon, the Academy Award-winning actress, has experience as a server on screen and off.
"I waitress every weekend at the mission," Sarandon says. "It is hard work."
That job experience brought her and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams to Grimaldi's in Dumbo on Monday. Alongside One Fair Wage and their mission to raise workers’ wages and end sub-minimum wages, the two hosted a “Server for an Hour” lunch.
They served patrons at the restaurant, experiencing just how hard the job can be.
Sarandon says its stressful working a job that usually relies on tips. She is a big supporter of One Fair Wage and their mission.
