A male suspect is still on the loose following Friday’s fatal stabbing inside an East New York deli.

Police say 33-year-old Diego Sandoval Nava was stabbed multiple times around 3:07 p.m. at a deli on Hegeman Avenue. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Deli workers told News 12 that the man who died was an employee at the deli and a father.

Sources close to the investigation say the man who stabbed him came into the deli screaming, then left the deli before coming back, going behind the counter and stabbing him multiple times.

News 12 spoke with customers like Yohan who says he's shocked.

"To hear that this happened really, really hurts. It rocked me," he said.

Police say they're looking for a male suspect. The deli was closed on Saturday.
