One of the suspects in the fatal shooting of Justin Hackley has been arrested in Texas.
Rasheed Boland, 26, was suspected in the shooting death that occurred outside 533 Ocean Ave. two years ago.
Police identified brothers Dean and Rasheed Boland as the suspects shortly after the slaying. The arrest was the first major break in the case.
Rasheed Boland will be extradited to New York soon. His brother Dean Boland is still at large.
Hackley's mother, Marie Bernard, played an role in bringing Rasheed Boland into custody. Bernard received a crucial tip, which she brought to a detective.
News 12 reported in July 2017 that the brothers got into a verbal dispute with Hackley, 20, and his 24-year-old friend. The dispute then turned physical and ended when one of the suspects fired several gunshots, which struck Hackley in the neck and chest.
Hackley was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
