A police officer shot a hospitalized suspect inside Kings County Hospital Wednesday after police say the man hit the officer in the head with a bed safety rail.
Police say the suspect, 19-year-old Miguel Gabriel, was shot twice in the torso and twice in the arm by the officer. He's listed in stable condition. Gabriel had been under arrest for an assault on his father and resisting arrest from an incident on March 26.
According to police, the officer was taken to the emergency room with deep cuts on his head. He remained at the same hospital and is listed in stable condition.
