The NYPD is seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect who they say vandalized a church in Carroll Gardens back in August.

Detectives say it happened on Aug. 20 just after 9:30 p.m. outside of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary & St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, located at 125 Summit St.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect on Sunday, which shows the person walk up to the front of the church, remove a light fixture and throw it into the street.

Investigators say the suspect took off running after the incident.

The NYPD says its Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the act of vandalism.
