Police need the public's help in finding two men wanted for a string of armed jewelry robberies in broad daylight in Mill Basin.
Rene and Daniel Montgomery were sitting on their porch on East 49th Avenue on Aug. 6 when they say two men approached and asked them whether someone named Kenny or Joseph lived at their house.
The Montgomerys say the men then took out guns and robbed them of chains and bracelets, ranging in value from $200 to $3,000, before running off.
The couple says they have multiple security cameras around the exterior of their home, which captured the two suspects' images. They say they are traumatized in the wake of the robbery, and it took a couple of days for them to muster the courage to even leave the house.
Police hope images from those cameras will generate leads on the suspects, who police believe committed three other robberies within months of each other in the area.
