Target says it will no longer require customers and employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear face coverings in its stores, except where masks are required by local ordinances.
"Face coverings will continue to be strongly recommended for guests and team members who are not fully vaccinated and we’ll continue our increased safety and cleaning measures, including social distancing, throughout our stores," said Target in statement.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said last week that fully vaccinated people could resume many activities outdoors and indoors without wearing a mask. People who are vaccinated would still have to wear masks in some settings, such as on airplanes.
