Teacher Appreciation Week kicked off at M.S. 88 in Park Slope Monday with a surprise for all teachers who returned to class.
As they walked inside their school, they were greeted with goodie bags, breakfast and classroom supplies.
Principal Aileen Altman Mitchell says she wanted to surprise her staff with a small gesture to symbolize in a year where teachers were pushed to new extremes, they're appreciated more than ever.
The teachers who were working remotely were also given appreciation as they viewed a special video made from their students.
Mitchell said even in these uncertain times, her staff has stayed strong through every bump in the road and they're the true definition of New York tough.
