About 700 people participated in T.E.A.L.’s 15th annual Walk and 5k run on Saturday in Prospect Park to spread ovarian cancer awareness, raise funds to promote a cure and support survivors and their families.
Families of survivors and those affected by the disease, such as actor Steve Buscemi, honored their loved ones at the event. The actor spoke about his late wife who died from the illness.
T.E.A.L. will be hosting more events throughout September. The next walk/run will be in September in Connecticut.
