A 17-year-old Coney Island girl died Monday after an assault in front of her home last week.
Police say they have one suspect in custody in last Friday's attack, which left Ta'Jae Warner in a coma.
Monday morning, medical staff took her off life support.
"I'm hurt," her father, Arthur Warner, said Sunday night. "My heart is feeling really heavy right now."
Family members say Warner was a dancer and basketball player who did well in school.
Police charged the 18-year-old suspect, Sarina Agard-Forde, with attempted murder and assault, but those charges will likely be upgraded.
The family says more people were involved in the attack.
