A 14-year-old boy walking home from school in Kensington was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Thursday afternoon.
Mohammad Uddin was crossing at the intersection of Caton Avenue and East Seventh Street when he was struck by a maroon Chevy Impala driven by 78-year-old Lynn Reynolds.
Uddin was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the criminal complaint, Reynolds told investigators she thought kids threw something at her car. She said she did stop to check, but didn't see the injured boy in the street, so she kept driving.
Reynolds is facing several charges, including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a serious injury or death. Her bail was set at $50,000.
