Over at Kingsborough Early College High School, one 17-year-old is taking her skillsets to new heights.

Kamora Freeland recently earned her license as a private pilot-- not something most kids her age can say.

The journey for Freeland started about a year and a half ago, when her mother informed her that she won a scholarship to flight school - something she had secretly signed her daughter up for.

The high school senior says she was skeptical at first but once she took her first flight, there was no going back.

"Honestly it's amazing... I'm so honored to have this title,” says Freeland.

Freeland explains that instead of her friends asking her to drive them to places, they are already planning their first vacation that Freeland can fly them to.

If she could go anywhere in the world, she says she would love to fly herself to Africa.
