A court handed down a temporary ruling today that will allow a Bronx church to continue using a public school after-hours for religious worship.
Under the ruling, the congregants of the Bronx Household of Faith will have a roof over their heads for the next 10 days. Meanwhile, lawyers say they're waiting for the judge to draft written opinion and see if the school district will change its standing policy prohibiting churches from worshipping in schools.
Pastor Jack Roberts, of the Bronx Household of Faith, says it's a blessing to get two more Sundays of worship in a place big enough for their congregation. Once the 10 days are up, the church plans to hold services at a nearby Christian center.
