Tenants from two Brooklyn apartment buildings rallied in protest against their landlord Saturday, saying the buildings have fallen into disrepair.
That rally was comprised of the tenants’ associations for both 1616 President St. and 575 Herkimer St. Residents say they have been on a rent strike for more than a year and claim the landlord does not make repairs.
Gilman Management told News 12 that repairs are not done because tenants don't allow access to their apartments. They say they do not want to evict any tenants.
Protesters told News 12 that they're either not home or at work when those who can make the repairs arrive.
News 12’s Faith Graham was at the rally to speak with tenants.
