Tenants living at Red Hook Gardens are frustrated with their living conditions. They say they're in need of major repairs, but despite their complaints to their landlord, Caroll Gardens Association, nothing gets done.

Neighbors rallied outside of the management's office Friday morning and demanded they take action. Tenants said their homes are deplorable and infested with roaches and rodents.

"We have mold in the bathroom. all over the walls," said Noemi Cintron. "The things in our tub in the bathroom, they all come out. You push it down for the water to go down, and the whole thing just comes out of the wall."

The executive director for Carroll Gardens Association told News 12 they're working closely with the tenants to address repair issues. They're also partnering with the city's Preservation and Development department to redevelop the area with more than 300 units of affordable housing.

The nonprofit organization, Build Up Justice NYC, is representing 19 of the tenants with their complaints in housing court.
