Tenants say rats are causing problems and even climbing through the windows to get inside their Soundview building.
Caught on one video, giant rats are seen running across a windowsill of an apartment on Stratford Avenue. Another rodent can also be seen climbing out of the window.
According to the people that live in the building, they say it's a serious problem and one they have never had to deal with before.
And the rodents aren't just scurrying across the floors. Tenants say they have entered apartments, eaten food and taken items on sight.
Tenants also say the vermin are even worse on trash day.
One tenant tells News 12 that he has been sleeping in his car for the last couple of days.
The problem is so bad, tenants say have had to take matters into their own hands. They say the building superintendent is aware of the rat problem and that they have paid out of their own pockets to seal up holes where the rats may pass through.
News 12 reached out to the management of the building, but they declined to comment.
