The Gun Violence Archive says there have been 479 mass shootings this year.
The "ISO," which sets standards for payment transactions, on Friday approved the creation of a special code for gun stores to use when processing credit or debit cards.
American Express, Mastercard and Visa said they would adopt the new code, which gun control advocates say would help flag suspicious activity.
This is the latest move to prevent mass shootings in America.
We've seen lots of maneuvering in the tri-state when it comes to gun safety and regulations.
