Does the student in your life need a new laptop for school this semester?
News 12 Consumer Reporter Janice Lieberman has The Real Deal when it comes to picking the best computer for the best price.
Experts say picking one out may be overwhelming but there are a lot of sales right now for student discounts. But sometimes you don’t have to be a student to find a good sale.
If you are looking at Apple products, their laptops all have student discounts. You can get top of the line discounted, but you don’t have to go to the newest model.
Experts say try the 2020 model, the MacBook Air with an M1 chip is $750.
If you are not an Apple person, go HP or other brands.
The HP Pavilion Aero is a solid machine with good battery life and is $500.
Experts say if you have a family or you want to have a machine that grows with them, there is a good one from Lenovo and it folds. It's the Flex, because it also becomes a tablet to take your notes at school.
Don't forget to check out all of the sales. Sometimes you do need a student discount, sometimes you don't, but otherwise wait until Black Friday.
