News 12 is learning more about the four people killed and one man in critical condition following the mass shooting Monday at a Midtown Manhattan office building on Park Avenue. Sources say the man in critical but stable condition worked in the NFL office inside of the building. In a memo sent to staff, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed one of his staff members were severely injured in the shooting. Another victim was identified as Wesley LePatner, a chief executive real estate officer for Blackstone. She was a member of the United Jewish Appeal Federation. They honored her in a post on social media, sending their condolences to her family.
Sources say Julia Hyman is another victim. News 12 is learning she was a Rudin associate. Her LinkedIn profile shows that she graduated from Cornell after spending most of her educational career at Riverdale Country Day School.
32BJ SEIU announced that one of their members was shot and killed Monday night. Aland Etienne was a security officer inside of the Park Avenue building.
"This tragedy speaks to the sacrifice of security officers who risk their lives every day to keep New Yorkers and our buildings safe,” union president Manny Pastreich said in a statement. “Every time a security officer puts on their uniform, they put their lives on the line. Their contributions to our city are essential, though often unappreciated. Aland Etienne is a New York hero. We will remember him as such."
