NYPD officers and local community members joined a workshop at the Irondale Center for Theater in Fort Greene to gain deeper insight into one another.
The program featured improvised singing, dancing and acting.
"I think this helps everyone see each other as humanity, which is very important," says Susan Herman, an NYPD deputy commissioner.
The nine-week program will conclude with two public performances at the Irondale in February.
