Overnight fire damages East New York building, displaces family

Thick black smoke was captured on Citizen app video billowing from a fire inside a warehouse in Greenpoint on Thursday.

The FDNY says it responded to 485 Scott Ave. just after 3:45 p.m.

News 12 cameras captured firetrucks and ambulances lined up for blocks leading up to the location.

The blaze erupted in the back of the three-story building, according to fire officials.

Notify NYC posted on X, warning those in the area to close their windows and expect traffic delays.
