Police are looking for a thief they say performed a lewd act in front of a woman on the train and then stole her phone.

The incident happened on Wednesday during the early morning commute. A 29-year-old woman was sleeping on a 2 train when she woke up and saw the man. He was performing a lewd act in front of her before taking her cellphone from the pocket of her sweater. The man then exited the train on Flatbush Avenue. He is described as having a tattoo symbol on his right cheek.

Police say the woman was taken by NYPD to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County for evaluation and is expected to be OK.
