The NYPD is searching for a man wanted for assaulting an elderly man.

Police say it happened after 3:50 p.m. Monday afternoon in front of a deli on Brighton Beach Avenue. Detectives say he punched the 70-year-old victim in the face before running off.

First responders took the victim to a hospital, where he is in stable condition.

“This is a problem for us and a problem for all the people around here,” said Andy, a worker at Big Bazaar across the street.

He believes the suspect is one of the teenagers messing with the produce outside the grocery store's entrance.

Andy says he scares off "foolish" teenagers every day, who destroy up to $300 in produce. It's not the perishable food that is bothering him; it's the way the teenagers are treating senior citizens.

“They start harassing people, screaming….. Yelling,” he said. "Seeing an elderly woman falling down to the ground. I would not like to see that.”
