Thousands of gallons of water flooded the basements of three buildings in Brooklyn Friday as a result of alleged vandalism.Fire officials say when they arrived on the scene, they found the meter was removed or vandalized and water was flowing unchecked into two adjoined buildings on Ralph Avenue. One of the buildings was abandoned. The Heavenly Blossoms business suffered the most damage. Owners of the flower shop say $20,000 worth of supplies were ruined. They say they are devastated and will be unable to fill the 300 Valentine?s Day orders during one of their busiest times of the year.Heavenly Blossoms owners say the abandoned building, where the water seems to have come from, has been a constant problem with vandalism and homeless people taking up residence. The fire chief is requesting the abandoned building be boarded up.
