The Throggs Neck Benevolent Association’s held their 5k
Turkey Trot at Orchard Beach on Saturday.
Two-hundred runners and walkers of all ages
participated in the event.
The Turkey Trot was held in memory of Geraldine
Crowley-Crorkin who died from cancer in April 1995 shortly after she gave
birth.
"This is really an example of how the community came
together right after to show some support…I mean we're still doing this over 25
years later,” said Patrick Crorkin, Crowley-Crorkin’s son.
The money raised from the Turkey Trot will go back into the
community to help Bronx residents battling illnesses.
News 12’s Shniece Archer joined the many participants that
trotted to the finish line.
