Community members in Throgs Neck gathered to voice their opposition against the potential upzoning in their neighborhood.
Community Coalition 4 hosted the meeting at Icehouse Cafe on Reynolds Avenue. So many people attended that they could not all fit inside, so the meeting was moved outside.
Residents say they believe larger developments in the area could ruin their quality of life.
The current zoning rules allow for single or double family housing, but some of the proposed structures could be as high as eight floors.

Another meeting on the proposed upzoning is scheduled for May 19.
