To-go cocktails could be making a comeback as soon as this weekend if lawmakers and Gov. Kathy Hochul sign off on the state budget.
Part of the state budget deal reached this week includes bringing to-go drinks back for three years.
Some local New Yorkers say adults should be able to drink responsibly whether they are on the sidewalk or in a bar.
“They should trust people and trust if people are going to be responsible about the way they drink. Easy to-go cocktails are amazing, especially with warm weather. You can go to the park and enjoy a cocktail responsibly. It doesn’t need to be excessive,” said Camille Russelet, a Brooklyn resident.
Depending on what’s decided in Albany, you may be able to bring your favorite drink with you in the upcoming weeks.
