A 3-year-old from Ridgefield is preparing to perform at the famed Carnegie Hall following an international win.

Brigitte Xie has only been playing piano for less than a year. Three months into learning the instrument, she won an international competition.

Brigitte’s father, Joe Xie, tells News 12 his daughter was the youngest winner.

"She's just full of energy all the time…she never took a nap,” says Xie. “During the daytime, she always wants to do something and especially when we are working from home nowadays and if she doesn't have anything to do, she just goes and plays piano.”

The toddler started with virtual lessons and transitioned to in-person lessons with award-wining teacher Felicia Zhang in Greenwich.

Zhang believes Brigitte, who turns 4 in two weeks, has a very bright future ahead of her.
