The Town of Greenwich celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with the annual raising of the Mexican flag at town hall.
First Selectman Fred Camillo spoke in person and shared a recorded message from the Mexican Consulate General of Boston.
“Mexico is our important neighbor to the south that we share a long border with,” says Ann Blumensaadt, an organizer of the event. “We have so many residents of Mexican descent that I thought it was important to support them and acknowledge them and do something positive.”
Friday also marked Mexican Independence Day.
