Retailer Toys R Us opened its doors nationwide Monday to prospective employees as it looks to bolster staff members heading into the holiday season.
More than 4,500 seasonal cashiers, sale and overnight positions are available in the New York market, including about 100 jobs at the Toys R Us on Bay Parkway in Bath Beach.
The store is welcoming friendly and enthusiastic locals looking to possibly start a career with the company. Store manager Steven Caruso says employees would make a perfect fit if they like children, toys and sales.
Although the positions are seasonal, Caruso says there is a 15 to 20 percent chance the job may turn permanent.
Toys R Us will hold a second hiring day on Nov. 11.
Other retailers such as Kohl's, Macy's and Best Buy are also hiring for the season.
