Transit officials hosted a public meeting Wednesday to discuss how to minimize the disruptions when the L train construction begins.

MTA and Department of Transportation are seeking input from commuters and local business owners on ways to minimize disruptions when construction gets underway next spring.

The meeting is one of two scheduled town hall meetings this month to go over plans for the Canarsie Tunnel Reconstruction project. DOT officials outlined the measures that will be taken to accommodate travel alternatives, including more select bus service, HOV restrictions on the Williamsburg Bridge and more bus and bike lanes.

MTA and DOT officials also discussed alternate service plans for the L train and take suggestions.

The 15-month project will affect about 250,000 customers.
