Friday's wet weather forced a tree to crash down in Brooklyn Heights, nearly taking out a playground.

The tree fell just before 11 a.m. on State Street and Willow Place.

The tree ripped through scaffolding and landed on top of a parked car.

Neighbors say they heard a loud bang.

Parents are thankful the rain kept kids away from the usually busy playground.

Resident Antoni Kuczynski was working on the property where the tree stood. He said he was worried about the tree just the day before.

"I was thinking, 'wow, that tree is tilting to the right. That's not good. It's very dangerous.' Some of the roots were exposed, and also the sidewalk was raised. I was really concerned about the tree," Kuczynski said.

There were no injuries.

The Parks Department says anyone who is concerned about a tree should report it to 311.
