Brooklyn residents paid tribute Sunday to Omar Edwards, the NYPD officer who was shot and killed last week in a friendly fire incident.
A 200-car motorcade and balloon release was held to honor Edwards, an Ocean Hill resident who was married last month and leaves behind two children.
Police say Edwards was off-duty Thursday night when he chased a suspect he believed broke into his car. NYPD officer Andrew Dunton reportedly shot Edwards thinking he was the suspect.
