A truck rear-ended an MTA bus on the Bruckner Expressway injuring more than a dozen people Wednesday and backing up traffic for hours.

According to officials, the truck hit a BX M11 express bus that was headed from Manhattan to Wakefield on the expressway near Bronx River Avenue around 1 p.m. The impact caused the bus to hit another vehicle.Responders evacuated 11 passengers on the bus from windows. Thirteen people in total were treated at area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

The accident caused a major traffic tie-up on the Bruckner Expressway for drivers.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
