The Transportation Security Administration says it stopped a man from bringing a loaded gun onto a flight at Westchester County Airport on Sunday.
The TSA says the 9mm handgun was loaded with seven bullets, including one in the chamber.
The gun was found on a monitor by a TSA officer as the man's belongings were put into an X-ray unit.
TSA says the gun was confiscated, and that the man, a resident of Georgia, was arrested.
They say he faces a federal financial civil penalty for bringing a gun to an airport security checkpoint.
Officials say it was the third handgun that TSA officers have stopped at the airport checkpoint so far this year.
