(07/24/06) BROOKLYN ? Two police officers and one Brooklyn resident in his 20s were injured in an apparent altercation at the Glenwood Houses Monday.
Witnesses say the incident unfolded after police officers approached a back yard barbecue and asked residents to turn down the music. According to witnesses, police handcuffed the gentleman to a rail after a verbal exchange. They also claim the officers beat the man. Residents say the man?s son came to his father?s defense and was shot in the chest by the officers.
Police have confirmed the man was taken to Brookdale Hospital with a gunshot wound. The officers were taken to Kings County Hospital with head wounds. It is not clear how the officers received their injuries.
