Two New York City police officers were shot Monday while responding to a call in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Police say the officers were responding to a report of a fire at a third-floor apartment on Halsey Street. According to police, 29-year-old Jonathan Julian began shooting at the officers for an unknown reason. Other officers responding to the scene were able to capture Julian.
Both of the officers were wearing bulletproof vests. One of the officers was shot in the chest area of his vest; the other was shot in the back part of his vest. The bullets didn?t penetrate the vests and both officers are in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
