Two construction workers are in stable condition after a Brooklyn construction collapse buried them under debris. The workers were digging a trench on 11th Street around 10 a.m. Tuesday when the sides caved in. They were trapped for more than one hour before rescue workers pulled them to safety. Fire officials say the walls at the site were not properly secured, which caused the collapse. The two workers remain at Lutheran Medical Center. Five firefighters were also injured during the rescue.Neighbors say this isn't the first construction accident on the street. They say a few months ago a large piece of construction equipment overturned on the site, and in 1995 a man was killed doing construction just next door. Related Information
