Vaughn College of Aviation adding much-needed diversity to the field

Vaughn College says it has served as a launching pad for aviation professionals for over 90 years.
Now it announced that over 70% of its student population are people of color – adding much-needed diversity to the field of aviation, which has historically been dominated by white men.
"When I walk through the hangar floor, there wasn't other females, nevertheless, to say Hispanics,” said vice president of line maintenance Evita Garces. "My focus today, now that I represent and am in this leading position, is to make sure women know that this is an opportunity they can take advantage of."
